A scanatar is a highly detailed digital 3D scan of a human body. The word is a portmanteau (word blend) of the words “scan” and “avatar”. Accruate scanatars have many uses. They can be used by apparel and personal protective equipment designers to predict fit. They can also be used by vehicle designers for ergonomics and safety.
